Though touristy, staying on a cruise is something one must experience when in Vietnam. The view at Halong Bay is breathtaking and when coupled with a comfortable cruise and humorous guide/staff, it just makes the experience more satisfying. Further, the staff were friendly and the boat was very clean. The cabins were a good size and the beds were super comfy.

Lovely, large and comfortable room with great views over the city. Breakfast selection is good. Very good location in short distance from the Presidents palace, Notre Dame and Post office. Great roof top bar to enjoy and watch the sunset. Really liked the breakfast buffet. Food and cocktails were fabulous!
Le Cochinchine (1 night)

DAY 01 & 02 – Departure Montreal - HANOI
DAY 03: ARRIVAL – HANOI
Arrive at Noi Bai airport, meet Evasion Vitours tour guide and driver. We will greet you and you’ll be transferred to your first hotel. Free time to relax and enjoy Hanoi Old quarter.
DAY 04: HANOI FULL DAY VISITING
Exploration of Vietnam’s charming capital. This is known for its country-style streets, colonial French architecture, peaceful lakes and ancient oriental pagodas. The city tour will include the Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and still house, the Presidential Palace, One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature; West Lake including the sedate Tran Quoc Pagoda & Quan Thanh Temple and a choice between the History Museum or the Ethnology Museum.
Dinner at one of Hanoi’s finest restaurants and enjoy a traditional Water Puppet Performance, a unique Vietnamese Art form.
DAY 05: HANOI – SAPA
This morning, you will travel to Sapa on the longest highway Noi Bai – Lao Cai. The scenic drive from the Red River Delta, through the midland to Lao Cai province will be a good start for your trip. Arrive in Sapa by noon. Have lunch at a restaurant in town.
Short trek in the afternoon, to visit Ma Tra village of the Black H’mong people where you will learn about local traditions.
DAY 06: SAPA – HANOI
After breakfast, we will embark on a medium trek (6km) to visit Muong Hoa Valley. The trek offers you a great scenery over the large valley which is decorated by amazing rice terraces and dotted by many villages of the Black H'mong and the Giay ethnic groups. Along the trek, the tour guide will help you learning about the daily life of the locals while admire the beauty of the landscape.
At 3,143 meters (10,312 feet), Mount Fansipan is the highest peak in Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam combined. Climbing the mountain is a challenging but realistic option.
DAY 07: HANOI – HALONG BAY
Departure for Ha Long Bay, UNESCO World Heritage by private car after breakfast. Immerse yourself in the tranquility of the natural seascape surrounded by over 3,000 islands. Because of their precipitous nature, most of the islands are uninhabited and unaffected by a human presence. The site's outstanding scenic beauty is complemented by its great biological interest.
After dinner, reward yourself with a large selection of cocktails at our bar, or take for you one of our onboard activities: book reading, games, movies, and squid fishing…
DAY 08: HALONG BAY –- FLIGHT TO HUE
Early-bird on-site Tai Chi session. The perfect art form to condition and charge your physical and mental energy for the day. After breakfast, you can explore the village yourself on kayak or comfortably capture the daily life of the fishermen on bamboo boat rowed by the locals.
Flight to Hue.
DAY 09: HUE VISITING
Visit to the Imperial Citadel and Forbidden City. This site was constructed between 1804 to 1833 it served as the administrative Centre of the country from 1802 to 1884. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a visit to two other vital historic sites: Float along the Perfume River to Thien Mu Pagoda, and Khai Dinh’s Tomb (the tomb of a former emperor that melds into the natural landscape. The walk through the complex is very interesting and informative.
DAY 10: HUE – DA NANG – HOI AN
Departure for Hoi An. Stop at Hai Van Pass, the high dividing line between the climate zones of North and South Vietnam, to admire the spectacular views and at the fishing village of Lang Co.
In the afternoon, walking tour in the Old Quarter, visiting some major sites such as an ancient merchant house, the Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the vibrant riverside market.
From the 16th to 18th centuries Hoi An was a thriving international port frequented by Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Arab traders, who came to trade in the high-quality silk still produced in the region. After lunch, take a short boat trip to a nearby island and visit a handicraft village specializing in ceramics.
DAY 11: HOI AN -MY SON & TRA QUE VEGETABLE VILLAGE
After breakfast, we will drive you to to My Son Land. We arrive to the haunting sound of Cham music and stop to take in the vibrantly dressed dancers enjoying a traditional dance performance.
Then, the walking tour begins with a short ascent up to the Cham ruins. Your guide will explain the history of the religious site which served as a burial place for the Cham monarchs many centuries ago.
In the afternoon, ride bicycle in 30 minutes to Tra Que herb village. Take a short stroll around the vegetable garden and listen to the history of the village. Then join gardening activities in preparing the land, fertilizing with seaweed, raking the ground, sowing, watering, picking vegetables... You also can learn how to harvest and wrap the vegetables.
DAY 12: HOI AN – COOKING CLASS & BEACH
Arriving at Red Bridge Cooking School we have a chance to freshen up before beginning our class. Working together with our Red Bridge Chef we learn the traditional ways of preparing and cooking Vietnamese food from scratch. Using the freshest ingredients and traditional Vietnamese utensils (still in use today) we cook 4 famous dishes, including the national dish ‘Pho’.
After the class we sit down and a chance to savour the dishes we have prepared. Enjoy a free afternoon for shopping, exploring or beachside relaxation.
DAY 13: HOI AN – HO CHI MINH & CITY TOUR
Take a flight to Ho Chi Minh City. After lunch, you will explore Saigon, a city that never sleeps! With its vibrant, exciting energy and brimming with people, you’ll quickly notice how modernity has collided with its rich history.
The tour begins with a visit to Central Post Office and the Saigon Notre Dame Cathedral, built between 1877 and 1883. Neo-Romanesque in form, the Notre Dame is the major seat of the Catholic religion in modern. We continue our tour to visit the moving War Remnants Museum.
A short walk to Ben Thanh market, a good place for you to observe the daily trading activities of the typical Saigonees.
DAY 14: HO CHI MINH – CAI BE – MANG THIT – TRA ON
Depart Ho Chi Minh City after breakfast, driving 2 hours to reach Cai Be in the heart of Mekong Delta for one of the highlights of the tour – a cruise on the mighty Mekong River and the chance to witness life on and around the water of the ‘Nine Dragon River”.
Take a local boat for an extensive visit of Cai Be: the floating market, the mazes of waterway, local pop-rice and sweets production. Visit of colonial buildings, old houses, delightful flower gardens and local coconut candy and rice paper manufacturers.
Join on board Le Cochinchine and enjoy a welcome drink. Lunch is served on board as the barge sails down Co Chien River then process onto Mang Thit River. Embark on a pleasant walk or cycle on the footpaths of the countryside to discover tropical fruit orchards and local people's daily activities. Leisurely cruise on the Mekong River while enjoying the beautiful scenery. Savour foot massage on board with a pre-dinner drink over the sunset.
DAY 15: CAN THO – HO CHI MINH
A lovely new day begins on Mekong River. Waking up early allows you to admire the sunrise on the Mekong with bubbling activities of local people. Breakfast on board while the boat sails to Can Tho through tributaries, canals and arroyos. Check-out Le Cochinchine boat, say “goodbye” to our friendly staff, we transfer you by small boat for visit of Cai Rang, one of the most bustling floating markets in the whole Mekong Delta. The Cai Rang floating market is known as a high-light cannot be missed when you explore the Western rivers of Vietnam.
The local boat slides on tiny waterways between palm-shaded banks, you have the chance to see green orchards, local houses, ship building yards, and rural activities in full swing. The sampan takes you to an ancient house to visit the orchard and enjoy tropical fruit.
DAY 16: HO CHI MINH – DEPARTURE
Bid Vietnam farewell, and transfer to the airport for your return flight home
